Community affairs – Recently The Funk Center was invited to participate in the State Treasurer of Ohio’s roundtable meeting to promote the offices new initiative “Economic Development Programs”. Mr. Mandel and his team were very open and available to the small businesses present. Though the Funk Center is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and not eligible for most of the departments offerings, the small business community in general will be very instrumental in The Funk Centers growth in the coming months. If you own a small business in the State of Ohio, you may to go out to the States web-site to determine if their programs can assist in growing your business. (Click here – http://www.tos.ohio.gov/ ) We are proud to be a part of the growth and development in the State of Ohio.

Marshall Jones’ signed bass will be one of the first artifacts displayed in TheFunkCenter. Marshall stated this was one of his fav axes to play because of the action, tone and ease of playing. Not to mention it is absolutely gorgeous! Marshall donated this beautiful instrument to the TheFunkCenter when he graciously allowed us the make a video interview with him as to why The Funk Music Hall of Fame & Exhibition Center (a.k.a. TheFunkCenter) belongs in Dayton Ohio. As you know, Marshall is also a member of the Board of Advisers for TheFunkCenter.
